affirming therapy for adults, teens, & partners

We work with individuals and partners who want support that feels genuine from a therapist who gets it.

Whether you’re navigating a big change, a shift in your identity, trauma, relationships, parenting, or a sense that something feels off, we’re here for you.

We offer online couples counseling/relationship therapy, individual therapy for adults, teen therapy, trauma therapy, EMDR, and gender exploration.

You don't have to navigate this time of your life alone. We're here to walk with you.

individual therapy for adults and teens

This is a space that's just for you.

Here you'll have support to explore past experiences, patterns, relationships, or changes that you want to make in your life. We take a collaborative and trauma-informed approach to therapy. While we help guide sessions, we also deeply believe in the importance of connecting to your strengths and wisdom to help lead our work.

Ultimately, we want sessions to be a place where you feel heard, cared for, and empowered to reach your goals.

Online individual therapy is available across North Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania. Online teen therapy is offered for North Carolina residents.

We offer inclusive support for partners of all different types of relationships who want to deepen their connection, heal broken trust, or grow together.

We often work with:

  • Queer partners

  • Non-monogamous and diverse relationship structures

  • New parents

  • Long-term partners and married couples

We take a trauma-informed approach to couples counseling and draw on Gottman therapy. In sessions, you'll have the opportunity to focus on communication, emotional safety, and repair, as we help each partner feel heard and on the same team again.

Online couples counseling and relationship therapy are available in North Carolina.

Past trauma can impact the way you view yourself, others, and the world around you. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured and supportive way to help you move through those experiences and lessen the distress connected to those memories.

EMDR can be supportive for:

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • PTSD

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • And more!

EMDR

gender exploration

Exploring your gender identity can feel freeing, confusing, relieving, and scary, sometimes all at once.

We provide affirming therapy for people who are questioning, transitioning, or simply wanting space to talk openly about gender and their identity without being pathologized, minimized, or redirected.

We are a trans and queer-affirming therapy practice, so we'll respect wherever you're at in your process of discovery and support you all along the way.

Wall with grafiti and a sign that says everyone is welcome, representative of affirming online couples counseling.

our commitment to inclusion

All genders. All races. All ethnicities. All identities. All relationship structures. All religions. All bodies. All abilities.

You are welcome here.

We are proudly queer-affirming and trans-affirming, and do not pathologize gender diversity or diverse relationships. We understand the direct impact of systemic oppression, racism, homophobia, transphobia, religious trauma, and marginalization on mental health and the need for change within our communities.

Whether you are deeply rooted in your faith, questioning it, healing from it, or practicing something entirely your own, there is space for that here too.

Inclusion at LifePoint Counseling isn’t symbolic. It shapes how we show up for our clients and each other in the therapy room and out in the world.

You do not have to shrink, explain, or justify who you are here. You just get to be you.
